Desert Camp Chraika
Welcome to Desert Camp Chraika, a serene retreat nestled in the heart of the Sahara. Our camp features a collection of natural clay huts, including seven guest accommodations, a main hall, a lounge, restrooms, and our home, all thoughtfully arranged around a central campfire.
We warmly welcome both individual travelers and groups of up to 26 people. The camp has also served as a base for inspiring yoga retreats.
Facilities and Experiences
The main hall, protected from the elements, is perfect for dining, yoga, or other activities. A smaller lounge area offers a cool and comfortable space during the day, while a rooftop terrace provides stunning panoramic views of the dunes and the edge of M'hamid. In the evening, gather around the communal campfire for tea, music, and stargazing under the vast desert sky.
Our "neighborhood" is the breathtaking and untamed Sahara Desert. Here, you can enjoy long walks, marvel at spectacular sunsets, and immerse yourself in the peaceful silence of the desert. Evenings are magical with stargazing and the warmth of a campfire.

Practical Information
- Solar Power: Solar energy powers a central charging station and provides lighting in each hut. Devices can be charged in the lounge.
- Connectivity: Central Wi-Fi is available, along with reliable cellular network coverage.
- Hot Water: Hot water is available upon request. During warmer seasons, we use solar power; in the winter, water is heated using a wood fire.
- Water Supply: The camp has its own well, supplying water for taps and showers. The slightly salty water is suitable for washing, but bottled water is recommended for drinking and brushing teeth.
- Friendly Cats: Our camp is home to charming desert cats that add a welcoming touch to your stay.
